Newark, CA

In 1996 Apple purchased the 107,000 square-foot data center in Newark, CA to expand it’s capabilities. Located in East Bay of Silicon Valley, the facility uses 100 per cent renewable energy, primarily due to wind-produced electricity purchased wholesale from California’s Direct Access power program. Apple is aiming to have 100 percent of their facilities run on renewable energy and report they are currently at 75 percent.
