Upon its completion in early 2015, the Computational Research and Theory Facility will span a total of 140,000 located at the hillside of Chu road near the Blackberry Gate entrance to Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. This new facility will house the new $70 million dollar ‘Cray’ supercomputer named Cori which will be 10 times faster than the other Cray supercomputers located in the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. The new facility will bring three world-class programs all under one roof which include National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center (NERSC), The Computational Research Division (CRD), and The Scientific Networking Division.
